Dear Praying Friends,
Normal 0
“So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom” (Psalm 90:12).
What a verse to meditate on as we begin another year. God is so gracious in granting us the gift of seeing this year—2010. We had some sad situations take place last year with the departure of our dear friend and deputation director, Dr. David Cummins, and the stepping down of Dr. Fred Moritz as executive director of BWM. The beginning of every New Year is a gift from God. We are now in the double digits 20 10. He has pre-ordained what will take place in our lives over the next 365 days, and we can rest assured that each day brings us closer to His glorious return.
The Christmas program on December 23 was a blessing. We had been praying for Vijayan and his family to attend. Although only Vijayan attended, his son attended every night of the evangelistic meetings held the following month in Valambur. Please pray that this young man, Eldo, and his family will surrender to the Lord and get baptized.
Our evangelistic meetings throughout January in the towns of Puthencruz, Vengoor, and Valamboor went well. Thank you for praying to see the lost open their hearts to the message. Continue to pray for the follow-up. We had a tremendous time of fellowship and ministry with Pastor Jeff Musgrave and his wife Anna while they were with us. Praise the Lord; they didn’t become ill during their two-week stay. They managed to do well with all the traveling they encountered. We were all refreshed by their ministry of preaching and music. Thank you for praying for them and for their ministry.
In February we had a three night meeting in Nedunnkunnyat Gilgal Baptist Church. A man by the name of Sabu got saved. His mother had been praying for him for years. Praise the Lord for his salvation.
Continue to pray for doors to remain open. Joseph still has not received Christ, but praise the Lord, Beena, his wife has made the decision to be baptized. Continue to pray for Paul and Mary who have received Christ. Mr. Kunjumon and his family have decided not to come to church any more due to pressure from extended family. Charles has also decided this narrow gate that leads to everlasting life is not worth the risk. Pray for Kochumon and Mini who left the church years back and are now realizing that they need to get involved in church again. Please pray that through the discipleship classes these will all take the step of believer’s baptism.
It’s camp time once again. Pray for our upcoming camp. April 5-10 will mark our eleventh annual youth camp since Camps Abroad founded a camp ministry here in India in 2000. This year’s theme is “The Secret to Outrageous, Contagious Joy” based on the book of Philippians. Please pray with us for the following camp needs. Camp needs change every year, but the following prayer requests are the pillars of camp. 1) Pray that many unsaved young people will attend camp. 2) Pray that God will direct the heart of the speakers to the needs of the campers. 3) Pray that God will bring in 120 campers to hear the Word. 4) Pray that the Lord will provide the 20 counselors needed. 5) Pray that Camp finances will remain at $3, 000 for one week of camp as well as staff training week.
This year is a furlough year for us. Our family will be taking a trip to the US April 14- May 25. Although we will not be able to see all of our supporting churches on this trip, by God’s enabling we will see many of our supporters and friends. Each Wednesday and Sunday is packed with meetings. Please take time to pray for our safety as we travel. Sophie’s dad, Pastor Mathew Thomas, will be here in our absence.
We earnestly continue to covet your prayers and financial support for this ministry. Lord willing, we will see many of you all very soon.
Serving Him with you,
Santhosh, Sophie, Joanna and Jonathan George
